Updates and maintenance

Balam uses the Arch Linux and BlackArch repositories for its packages, and follows the Arch philosophy of rolling release, meaning that you can install it using any version of the ISO and you will achieve the latest version of Balam and all of its packages.
Aditionally, a custom update method (balam-update) has been implemented to make quick fixes and patches easier to apply.

Why is Balam better than other distros?

There is no better or worse, just different. Balam focuses on being minimalist and efficient, with each package and aspect carefully selected to maximize the system's performance. Additionally, Balam serves as an intermediate step for creating a customized cybersecurity ISO or system. Every aspect can be customized as needed, from the window manager to the packages and tools, allowing for a uniquely personalized setup that suites your needs.
